グドゥチは細長い枝が広範囲に伸びるつる型の低木で、ハート型のシンプルな葉っぱを持っています。グドゥチは、インド、ミャンマー、スリランカの熱帯地域で生息します。グドゥチには、アルカロイド、グリコシド、ラクトン、ビターなどの様々な活性化合物が存在しているとの研究報告書があります。これら全ての活性化合物は、免疫調節機能と様々な種類の生理学的役割を持っており、それによってこの植物の様々な効果を推し量ることができます。
